Has anyone noticed a drastic amount of hair loss after giving birth?

I had a c-section for the 3rd time and it seems as if a couple of months later with each birth, my hair starts to fall out in the same 2 spots. It's right in the front on the hair line, kinda like around the area if you drew 2 straight lines from your eyebrows to where the hair on your head begin.Has anyone noticed a drastic amount of hair loss after giving birth?
Oh yeah, my hair thinned and fell out allot I was terrified - my mom told me to start retaking the prenatals and it stopped and my hair looks great again. Your hormones, breastfeeding and stress all cause you to lose vital nutrients so if you aren't taking the prenatals anymore start again they will really help your body recover. Good Luck!Has anyone noticed a drastic amount of hair loss after giving birth?
change your part if you have one; it happens hormonal changes; change in the season; vitamin deficiency; lack of protein; stress
Yeah, it's totally normal to lose hair afterwards due to hormonal changes. I was nearly in tears because whenever I brushed my hair, my brush would be full of hairs that had fallen out and I have thin hair to begin with!
I haven't been able to point out exact spots where my hair has fallen out but I can definitely tell that it has gotten thinner.
I did the same thing - with my first it really freaked me out, I thought something must be terribly wrong with me, then when it happened with my other 2 pregnancies, I realized it was just like before and another benefit of pregnancy, birth and MOTHERHOOD!
It is called Postpartum Alopica. It happens because when you are pregnant you are taking prenatals and your body is getting so many vitamins and it makes your hair grow really thick and then after you give birth then it all falls out. It is normal it happens to everyone
Normally you lose a certain number of hairs each day. Each hair grows for a certain amount of time and then falls out (that's why some people can't grow hair past their waist - it gets that long and falls out).

While you're pregnant, those hairs don't fall out - they all continue to grow so your hair feels really thick. Once the baby is born, all those hairs that were supposed to have fallen out over the last 9 months do so all at once. I always hated the stage when they start growing again and I'd have little hairs sticking up all over my head.
It's the out-of-whack hormones, and it's normal.

Some women get great hair and no problems.

I personally had insane hair loss in my first trimester with my first son, and no hair loss (yet) this pregnancy.
if this is your 3rd child, your gonna not notice the hair falling out you will be pulling it out! Just kidding... I lost hair with my 2nd child but it was hardly noticeable, did not lose any with the others. I did not take my vitiams with my 2nd child either not sure if that had anything to do with it or not..

Good Luck
