My boxer dog has been losing fur for two weeks and she has been itchy and has developed a rash on her left ear, it's red around it, not in it, but around it. She's a year and a month old, and we'd really like to know the cause of fur lose. What would be the best answer for hair loss in dogs?
Could be a flea allergy, could be mange mites.. could be some other sort of irritation/allergy - we can't diagnose on line! You need to get your vet to have a look - he will probably take a skin scraping to look at under a microscope - this will give him an idea of what is causing the irritation, and he can prescribe the appropriate lotion/cream/flea treatment then.
Take her soon - the itching will be upsetting her, and the longer you leave these things, the harder they are to treat. What would be the best answer for hair loss in dogs?
She could have ear mites. Go to a store that sells pet supplies and get ear mite treatment. Also you could buy some hot spot treatment to help with the itching. It may also be allergies- but unlikely since its only the ear.
take it to the vets, no one can give an accurate answer to this sort of question online. It could also get infected or be a sign of a greater problem.
it can be a number of things, we can't really give you accurate answers b/c we cannot see her skin, so I suggest going to a vet.
You probably need to change something in her diet. But get a vet's advice first.
The dog needs wormed, theres medicine for that, and if nothing else take her to the vets ASAP!
