Is hair loss and acne somehow connected?

I have bad acne that nothing seems to help. Lately it seems like my hair has been getting thinner and thinner....It doesnt fall out in clumps, but lots of strands come out every time I wash it (more than typical shedding) and I am not sure as to what is causing it to do this. I am wondering if hairloss and acne are somehow connected. I take vitamins and eat healthy.....Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?Is hair loss and acne somehow connected?

Testosterone can also cause hirsutism (excessive or unwanted facial and body hair).
