Is hair loss related to water temperature and chemistry?

Since moving to Kuwait in the Middle East, I noticed substantial hair loss. I wanted to contribute it to stress or diet or hormonal changes, but I have discoverred all women are having this issue. They claim it is because we only have hot water to use, I think it may be water chemistry. How could I determine if it is one or the other? Is hair loss related to water temperature and chemistry?
I always believed that hair loss was totally hereditary, until my husband experienced quite a substantial hair loss after we moved to the UK. We're now back in his country living (very hot summers) and the loss has stopped. For this reason, I can't believe it's related to water temperature, but I firmly believe it can be caused by stress. In my husband's case this resulted from living in a foreign country with a vastly different culture. Also, a young friend of ours who had a good head of hair, came back from his military service nearly bald; he had been stationed in a very dangerous area of the country - so, again, stress. Our bodies can be stressed, even when we feel we are in control. Is hair loss related to water temperature and chemistry?
stress %26amp; diet

and

some hairs are weak
ur right. its due to water change.

Use some ayurvedic oils etc. to stop hair loss.
hey its only hair
Maybe related to the poisons they're storing in that part of the world.
