My 7-year-old cat's tail seems infected. It has lost its hair on its base. There are multiple blister like lesions which are extremely painful to touch. They are bursting nowadays and oozes blood from them. What is it?The base of my cat's tail has painful blisters with hair loss. What is it?
You should take the cat to the vet ASAP!!The base of my cat's tail has painful blisters with hair loss. What is it?
stud tail? at the end it goes swollen and blistered. they lose their hair on their tail. i don't think it bleeds. have you been to a vet?
It doesn't seem like stud tail because if the doctor suggested injections it may be more serious. I had an outdoor cat once that developed a sore similar to the one you described but it was located on his side. It turned out to be an insect that had burrowed under the skin and caused an infection to spread!
It could be serious so if the vet recommends injections don't wait too long for the sake of the cats well being, but if I were in the same situation I would demand more explanation from the vet before proceeding or find a better vet. I included two websites you might take a look at- they seem to have some good information. Sorry I can't help more, but I hope kitty gets better!!! Good Luck!
both the injections you have listed are for human use...the leukovorin is an anti cancer drug and the leukomycin is a form of chlorphenical??(check spelling lol and if ive got them the right way round ). google the names of the injections, i would be seeking a 2 nd opinion if my vet didnt or couldnt tell me what was wrong with my kittys
