Is it typical to experience hair loss 4 months after child birth?

I had my son 4 months ago and just last week I noticed my hair has started falling out. not in clumps but when I take a shower or run my hands through it. is this typical? and if anyone has experienced this when does it get better? Is it typical to experience hair loss 4 months after child birth?
Yep that's normal. People normally shed hair on a daily basis but some pregnant women will stop losing hair in the last trimester, about 3-4 months after the birth you will lose the hair that you would have normally lost in that last trimester. It may look like a lot at first but it will soon settle down.Is it typical to experience hair loss 4 months after child birth?
Did your hair grow a lot while you were pregnant? When I was pregnant with my son my hair got real thick.but soon after I gave birth I lost a lot of that hair. It only lasted a month or so. Remember it takes a year for your body to get back to normal after giving birth. Just give it some time and enjoy that baby!
Yes, it is very common. I guess when your hormones get back to normal the change causes your hair growth cycle to resume. When you're pregnant your hair never goes through the final cycle of falling out so it grows and grows. Then once the cycle resumes you shed the excess.

I'm experiencing the same thing right now my daughter is 16 weeks. For me, it started 3 weeks ago and is still going on. It has decreased and is not as bad as it was at first. I don't know how long it will last but I expect things to resume to the way they were before pregnancy relatively soon.
The same thing happened to me at about the same time. I got so worried that I cut my long hair above my sholders. I don't think that you have to do the same. I hear that it is normal and that it grows back. I suggest that you get a trim to make sure that it is healthy so it will be less inclined to fall. Keep it clean by washing everyday because the scalp releases testosterone which makes hair fall out. My baby turned 5 mos on the 17th and I don't see the handfulls that I used to when I shampoo.
Mostly yes. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.
