Reason for hair loss?

I recently realized I had hair loss. When I pull on my hair gentlely 5-6 would come out. If i kept on pulling some more would fall out. I decided to take a bath, and when I washed my hair I'm sure atleast 10 came out. I never had this happen to me before. My hair also gets thinner. This is the 2nd day of this happening. I don't know if I need more proteins or something. I need help... any advice to how to solve it?

I checked by bundling my hair together with my hand and the difference is... quite significant. Please help.Reason for hair loss?
stress can cause white patches in your hair %26amp;/or hair loss.Reason for hair loss?
Stress can cause it. You should loose around 50 hairs a day, pulling at them just speeds along the process. If you were having handfuls of hair coming out, then you'd have to be worried and see a doctor. But I would say it's simply your hair dying and leaving the scalp. :]
well it could be natural because a doctor said that it is normal to loose at least 100 hair per day so dont worry. Also it coul be that you are getting new hair that why you are loosing it but it is nothing to worry about

Hi, what a coincidence, I read a good article on this topic at ezinearticles just yesterday! The url of that article is:

    http://ezinearticles.com/?Hair-Loss-In-W/a>
    Malnutrition from weight loss
    Stress or giving birth

What is the reason for hair loss and dandruff??

    Hair Loss

There are two types of hair loss.

Androgenetic alopecia is chronic and corresponds to a premature depletion of hair. This type of alopecia mainly concerns men (30% of 30-year old men, 40% of 40-year old men and 85% of 65-year old men) although a certain percentage of women may also be affected.

This type of hair thinning is genetically programmed.

It is the result of several factors, particularly the impact of an enzyme (5-伪 reductase) on androgens. It also depends on the quality of the area surrounding the hair bulb, especially the blood capillaries and connective tissue, which deteriorate prematurely, leading to an unfavorable environment for bulb vitality and hair growth.

And Reactive alopecia, which is temporary and manifests itself through a reduction in hair volume. This can last for several months and mainly affects women.

Reactive hair thinning results from a temporarily deregulated hair life cycle, due to internal or external factors: lifestyle (stress, pollution, and weight-loss diet), hormonal changes, biological clock (seasonal changes, aging), etc.

    Dandruff

Dandruff conditions result from irregular cellular activity: the cells in the scalp regenerate too quickly, causing excessive desquamation and microbial proliferation, which is often accompanied by itchiness. Stress, fatigue, pollution, imbalanced diets and epidermal sensitivity are the most common factors in the formation of dandruff.

STRESS is the main reason for hair fall.

dandruff is caused because of dirty hair.

wash ur hair every 3rd day. and use a good shampoo and always oil ur hair. What is the reason for hair loss and dandruff??
Just use a good shampoo like head and shoulders it solved my problem
Well, if your hair is dry and brittle then it's bound to break off. The dandruff issue is the same reason. Just be sure to have your hair moisterized, but not too oily.
Hair loss can come from stress and it can if you don't stick to a certain type of product for your hair and dandruff occurs when your scalp is too dry but there are dandruff shampoos and conditioners for the treatment of that.
main reason is STRESS.there can a lot other reasons such as consumption of a lot of oily, spicy food. no hair wash for so many days, use of shampoos or other hair care products which has harmful chemicals, etc.
Hair Loss, typically one that is continuous and /or permanent is mainly the result of Hormonal Imbalance in your body. It's more to do with your genes.

    Reason for hair loss?

I'm only 21 and am wondering why I have so much hair shedding recently. I'm african american and have curly hair and for the first time in a while have kept cutting it to keep it grown out enough to where its not at an afro height but somewhat before that point. I've gotten it cut to keep it at this level maybe 4 or 5 times in the last few months. My hygiene could be a lot better and I've only been washing my about three times a week and recently I've noticed a quite a bit of hair coming off of my washcloth.

I washed my hair for a solid 40 minutes today and kept wiping away at it and just couldn't get to a point where no hair could be seen on the washcloth. I'm scared that I'm balding. The odd thing is though that I have a very thick set of hair and there isn't the slightest visible sign of hair loss other than it shedding when I take a rag to it or wipe it vigorously into a sink. I can literally try to rip my hair out and nothing is coming out, but if I swipe it hard like I'm petting a cat small strands of hair can come out.

I'm thinking that it could be a result of having those loose cut strands of hair after each haircut just settling deep into my scalp to a point where its gotten out of control. At the same time though I feel that if this was the case that I could at least get to a point where there isn't anymore hair coming out but it seems difficult to reach an end to it.

What should I do to find out if its balding or just a lack of hygiene? Should I just cut it all the way and get it very short so I know that there isn't anything stuck down there and just monitor my hair after that to see if its actual shedding?Reason for hair loss?

Genetics. What is the main reason for hair loss?
Hi, I found a really good article on the reasons for hair loss.

If you're wondering what causes hair loss, it's important to understand that the answer to this question is hard to find. There are many reasons for hair loss to happen. The most common causes for hair loss are medication, radiation and chemotherapy and even nutritional factors or stress.

So here we go, in random order; what causes hair loss:

    #1 Genetics aka ';Runs in the family';

You can inherit the genes that causes hair loss. There is not much you can do about it. However, it's not said that you actually will inherit these bad genes. You may end up being lucky and see your brother or sister lose hair while it doesn't happen to you. It may even skip a generation and show up again with your children.

    #2 Auto-Immune Disorder

One of the most common forms of hair loss is caused by an auto-Immune disorder called Alopecia Areata. This is a disease that causes the white blood cells to attack the hair follicles. The result is a temporary loss of hair.

    #3 Hormonal changes

Hormones are responsible for both growing and losing hair. Therefore it's obvious that hormonal changes can cause hair loss. This is the most common cause of thinning and affects both men and women.

    #4 Childbirth

Within 8 to 12 weeks after giving birth, a lot of women will start to lose quite an amount of hair. Although this situation can last an alarming and frustrating 6 to 7 months, it's good to know that in most cases everything will turn out just fine. All it takes is the women's body to recover from 9 months of pregnancy.

    #5 Prescription Medications

A growing number of reports warn for prescription drugs to cause hair loss. These are ';every day'; drugs, used to fight common diseases and illnesses like low cholesterol, high blood pressure, Parkinson's and arthritis as well as blood thinners and anti-inflammatory medications. It's obvious you'd better lose your hair then being sick, so don't be afraid to take recommendations from your doctor. But be aware that in many cases there are alternative drugs available that will not cause hair loss.

    #6 Chemotherapy Treatments

Almost 100 out of 100 cancer patients who have to undergo chemotherapy will lose hair. It'll start within a few week after the chemo treatment started. And no, not just on their scalp. All areas of the body are affected. Most patient however, will notice their growing back 6 to 8 months after the last chemotherapy session.

    #7 Stress

Yip, it true. Stress can cause hair loss. It'll usually start a few months after a stress-event and will last a couple of months, depending on the impact of the stress-event.

    # 8 Toxins and poisons

In our modern society, we are constantly surrounded by toxins and poisons that are used in the manufacturing of many everyday products. When inhaled over a long period of time, some of these poisons and toxins are know to cause hair loss.

    #9 Head Injuries

Head trauma like chemical, severe damage from a blunt object, and over-exposure to extreme low temperatures run the risk of total and permanent hair loss. Wearing a tight helmet over a long period of time is technically not a head injury, but the continuous pressure it causes, can lead to permanent hair loss as well.

The answer to the question What Causes Hair Loss can be much longer. But in general the most common causes are listed above.
Here a few simple home remedies which can be tried at home to control hair fall.

What is systematical reason for hair loss into scalp ?

Hair loss or alopecia can result from a number of causes, ranging from the commonest androgenetic baldness through severe systemic illness to hair loss because of anticancer treatment. The treatment will obviously differ according to cause which needs to elucidated in every case before an individualized management strategy can be devised. The common types are discussed below.

    Male Pattern Baldness (Androgenetic Alopecia)

This is by far the commonest cause of hair thinning and loss in adult males. The condition runs in families and has a strong genetic component to its causation. It is believed to be related to an excess of male hormones in the body (Androgens).

The hair starts thinning usually around the age of twelve, but it may be delayed up to the age of 40. Up to 50 % of the population may have experienced some degree of hair loss before entering into the 6th decade of their life.

The main abnormality in this type of hair loss is a more rapid cycle of hair growth. The hair follicles become smaller and the hair is shorter and thinner. They are shed earlier than normal, giving rise to a sparser and lighter growth.

The presentation can be extremely varied and can range from simply a receding hair line, to loss off hair from the crown and temples, to complete baldness. Very thin scanty filaments may be the only thing that is left in severe cases.

    Female-pattern Baldness

It is rarer than the male counterpart, but differs in it appearance and presentation. Thinning of hair is more severe on the front, the temples and at the top. Some hair is generally present at the hair line despite patches of extensive baldness in rest of the scalp.

    Alopecia Areata

It is an immunologically mediated disease which affects roughly 2% of the population, without any gender bias. Children and young adults are affected more commonly. The disease manifests as small rounded to oval patches of subtotal to total hair loss. It can affect of the hairy skin of any part of the body including scalp.

The hair follicles remain alive in this condition, and there is always a hope. The hair generally grows back, but such spontaneous remissions may come in months to years.

anyway as we know - hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago my husband suffered very much from hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed

It is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for him!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.trichozed.info/ingredients.ph/a>

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

    good luck!

    Hi Jamilia,

There are many causes for hair loss. It can be because of nutritional deficiency, hormone imbalance, stress or disease. But generally the most common cause of hair loss is Adrogenetic Alopecia. It is the medical term for hair loss or baldness that is passed to you through genetics.

You can't cure it but you can fight back using natural supplements to make your hair regrow and become healthy again. What is the reason for hair loss in males? Is there a reason behind this? Please suggest a remedy for it ?
The leading cause of Hair loss is scientifically proven to be DHT or dihydrotestosterone, a hormone that tends to attach itself to your hair follicles and other receptor sites. Finally, your hair follicles get bound and weak thus resulting in loss of hair and baldness.

Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment of thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.

Simple Food like Fish, eggs, beans and yogurt are rich in proteins so you should try and include these in your diet

Soy protein (tofu) has also been found to be helpful in stimulating hair growth.

Here is the list of supplements you need to intake daily in order to have healthy hair

    * Vitamin B-complex - 50 mg. (including folate, biotin and inositol)

    * Vitamin B-6 - 50 mg.

    * Vitamin C 1-2 gms with bioflavonoids

    * Vitamin E - 400 to 800 IU daily

    * Beta-Carotene - 10,000 to 15,000 IU (Beta-carotene is found in green and yellow vegetables and fruits especially ripen mangoes)

    * Magnesium, sulfur, zinc

    * Silica (horsetail) - 300 mg. daily

    * Nettle - 250 mg. three times daily

    * Flaxseed oil - one tbsp daily or one tablet

    (IU-International Units)
Male pattern baldness is mostly genetically determined. As a general rule, it's easier to maintain remaining hair than it is to regrow new hair. However, there are treatments such as topical creams or transplant surgeries that can help. I would recommend asking your doctor or going to see a Trichologist.
Wikipedia is your friend. You'll get the right information from there.
It's mostly genetics and male pattern baldness. There are some solutions for it like hair weaving for which you'll need to consult a trichologist.

Hair loss is caused by many reasons such as malnutrition, illness, tension and other health problems. It is normal to shed some hair each day as part of a cycle of growing new hairs and loosing some. Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp.

Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

Good Luck! =)What is the most common reason for hair loss in women?
The reasons are the same as they are for men. It's hormonal, specifically androgens.

Experts say hair usually grow at the rate of about one-half inch per month -- with each hair having a growth phase of two to six years. At that point the hair ';rests'; for a period of time, then falls out -- and the follicle from which it sprang soon starts growing a new strand.

In some folks, however -- those with a genetic predisposition to hair loss -- a group of hormones called androgens interferes with this natural process. Androgen hormones include testosterone, androsteinedione, and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) -- all of which are made in men's bodies in large amounts, and in women's bodies in small amounts.

In those who are genetically susceptible, when testosterone comes in contact with enzymes residing in the hair cell, it is converted into the more potent androgen DHT, which then binds with receptors deep within the hair follicle.

Over time, an excess build-up [of DHT] in the follicle causes it to begin shrinking, which in turn alters the natural resting and growth phases of the hair. Some of the follicles eventually die, while others are rendered incapable of producing or maintaining healthy hair growth. The end result is hair loss -- and a condition that is medically known as androgenic alopecia. What is the most common reason for hair loss in women?

    Possible reasons for hair loss?

I was wondering what a few of the possible reasons for hair loss could be. I was having my haircut a couple days ago and my hairdresser noticed that I had a bald patch at the back of my head just above where the hair ends. It's actually bigger than I thought, and I'm incredibly conscious of it, because there's nothing I can do to cover it up.

My mum and a couple others has suggested that it could be stressed. I personally don't think it's that- I don't feel stressed [I'm doing my exams at the moment but don't actually care about them] hardly at all, but what I will mention is that I am really depressed [not sure to what extent though as I haven't seen a doctor that'll take me seriously yet]. Just so you know, I am 16 now, but when I was very young [perhaps 4 or 5, maybe younger] I had alopecia. Can't remember how long for, or how bad, I know I had it for a while. I thought I'd mention it incase it was important.

    Thanks in advance,

    Baldilocks.

Part of the reason could be stress, but also a likely cause is good old genetics. What about your father, and grandfather's - do you know anything about their hair? Alopecia couild also play a part in it. I am female, had alopecia probably 20 years ago. The hair where I had alopecia is thinner than on the rest of my head, even today.
Sorry to hear that, but the only one who can tell you for sure is a doctor. The more you worry about it, the worse it'll get, so I would go find out what it is as soon as possible.

Even if there's nothing you can do about it, at least you'll know. Good luck.
Consider working on a balanced diet and take a multiple vitamin with zinc in it. If that doesn't help - maybe you should see a doc or at least a counselor about that depression. Interesting that you had alopecia when you were younger. Good luck!

Men can lose their hair at any time in their lives, not only when they grow old. Bald men have an inherited trait that makes them lose their hair in a special pattern. That pattern even has a name, male pattern baldness. So when a young man starts to lose his hair, his body is following the instructions of his genetic code, just like when your body makes blonde or black hair, blue or brown eyes.

    FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall a lot? Don't worry, you're not alone. Millions of people from all around the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are:

    Tension

    Too much work

    Illness

    Poor diet

    Over-exposure to the sun

    Perming

    Amateur bleaching

Too frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants

Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil.

COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month 隆V if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

    Quick Hair Care Conditioner

Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

    Honey Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

    Alcohol Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours

    ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

    Wide-toothed comb

Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

    Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

    Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

    Egg

Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.
It may be from stress; overdying; using too many products; washing too often; or sleeping on the same side for too long.

Is aging a common reason for hair loss?

Is 27 too early an age to lose hair? What can be done apart from rogaine? My hair have always been thin in texture but I had lot of them 2--3 yrs back. I lost a lot of them this year. And there are no diet issues involved. What are good conditioners to make them look healthy? I use rogaine. I use progaine volumizing shampoo. I want to know about conditioners and other products that can make it look good. I don't like hair sprays. Is aging a common reason for hair loss?
    Hello-

To begin with, I presume from your question that you are female and will answer your inquiry accordingly. I should also point out that I am a Ph.D. scientist, not an M.D. clinician. This means that any thoughts I offer should not be taken as medical advice. It is always my recommendation that any questions concerning health be forwarded to one's primary care provider.

With that understanding in place, I would offer the following thoughts in response to your question. First, in the case of early onset of female hair loss it is important to establish a firm diagnosis, ruling out the less common causes.

Depending on what your primary care physician observes, you may referred to an endocrinologist more familiar with female hair loss related disease processes. Ultimately, you should be able to arrive at a proper diagnosis. Then you can begin considering treatment options.

In the meantime, jumping from one product to another without really understanding what is causing the problem is a strategy that is probably doomed to failure. It may be helpful to understand a little about the physiology that underlies hair growwth and hair loss.

Typically, as women age subtle shifts in endocrine balance can precipitate changes in homeostasis (physiological balance). Among these changes are those affecting hair growth. Though such changes affecting hair typically occur in one's late thirties to mid forties, earlier onset of female hair loss is not particularly rare. Environmental influences, ranging from medication to diet to beauty products such as perm solutions can also affect one's hair, and possibly accelerate the process of hair loss.

A very important factor that has a profound influence on hair growth and hair loss is one's genetic makeup. Certain people of both gender are genetically ';hard wired'; to suffer from hair loss more than others with a different genetic makeup. The genes and pathways that regulate hair growth are only now beginning to be worked out.

Now that we have laid the ground work for some of the factors that regulate hair growth and hair loss we should briefly touch on ways to address the most common form.

For argument's sake, let's say that your diagnosis turns out to be garden variety female pattern hair loss. For reasons to lengthy to go into herein, certain treatment choices available to women are somewhat different than those typically appropriate for men.

For example, there are a number of pharmaceutically derived drugs that are available for women suffering from common pattern hair loss. Some work better than others depending on the situation. These drugs include diazoxide, flutamide and others. Your treating physician will be the best source for information on which of these, if any, may be appropriate to try in your case. Or you may be offered a regimen which includes the use of minoxidil.

Another option which has recently come into the picture is the use of botanically-derived non-drug based therapy. There are a number of such products on the market today. And once again some work better than others. If this is an approach you are considering, I would suggest relegating your scrutiny to those treatments that have peer-reviewed medically published data to support their claims.

The next alternative may be surgical hair restoration wherein small sections of hair bearing tissue are excised from thicker zones of your scalp and relocated to areas where they may be needed for cosmetic coverage. Think of this as somewhat analogous to moving grass from your backyard to your front yard.

In the proper hands, results of this process can be very positive. In my opinion, Dr. Martin Tessler in Michigan, and Dr. Dan Didocha in Colorado have great skill and expertise in this particular area of medicine. You can find out more about this process in general by looking up ';female hair transplant'; on the web.

Finally, once you determine what is causing your hair loss and decide to begin treatment (regardless of what treatment you select), I would strongly recommend the use of monthly progress photography of the affected region of your scalp.

Take baseline photos and regular progress photos so you can objectively assess the benefit your treatment option is, or is not providing.

If you have specific questions, please feel free to address them to my attention. Otherwise, I hope I've helped answer your inquiry.

    Respectfully,

if your losing your hair at such an early age there might be something physically wrong. i was also loosing hair so i went to the doctor and they did all these test on me turned out blood pressure, thyroid, periods and even if your ovaries are not functioning well that can have an affect on your hair. if your body is not in good physical health it affects hair loss and hair growth get your self checked out!! my problem was ovaries but i got it fixed and my hair is so much thicker and helthier now thank God!!
    and troubles too...
genetics is part of it, my husband started losing his hair at age 20
Not really.Lots of young people with hair loss.

What might be possible reasons for hair loss?

I'm 24. I have hair loss overall, not in specific spots but its more noticable in the front. I don't take meds. The doctors will not check it out, they tell me its normal. My blood levels are normal, thyroids checks out fine.

I have been eating smaller portions and I have a vegan diet, but I'm careful to take supplements and eat varied foods...yet my hair is still falling out by clumps. I have experienced fatigue in the last two months, but I've been feeling healthier again.

And lastly, this has been ongoing for a few years. It grows, then it stops and gets thin, then grows again and so forth. Its just becoming more noticable now. I'm afraid to even brush my hair. What might be possible reasons for hair loss?
It could be genetic. Did your Mom and/or Grandmas lose hair?

Go to a really good beautician (ask for credetials). Be honest . Tell her/him about diet, drug use (including alcohol), stressors, shampoos, etc. What might be possible reasons for hair loss?
Hair loss is caused by many reasons such as malnutrition, illness, tension and other health problems. It is normal to shed some hair each day as part of a cycle of growing new hairs and loosing some. Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.
Look into your vegan diet...you maybe missing some nutrients that you need. Are you eating enough protein and vitamins? Also if you are not eating enough you could be malnourished. Hair loss is a symptom of eating disorders.

You should talk to other vegans and see what they say.
Have you had your thyroid checked? Get a TSH blood test from your doc to check this. It is the most common cause of hair loss in a young woman that I know of.

so weird, same EXACT thing as me. this is happening to me right now. suddenly, for the past month i have been losing so much hair. i've always had a full head of hair. i didn't notice until my mom told me how so much of my hair was in the shower drain. i lose clumps of hair after showering just once. when i brush my fingers through my hair about 5 strands of hair come dangling down, falling to the ground.

i also realize how much thinner my ponytail is. i'm planning on going to the doctor soon as well. it might be stress for you? i don't think it is for me..

Could most likely be stress. Or if you pull your hair up it could be traction hair loss. I just went through that myself, I had my hair twisted in a too tight bun. The traction and pulling made my hair thin out on the side. If it gets really bad see your doctor. Try a folic acid suplement I just started one about 2 months ago and the hair is now coming back. The Female Bald Pattern is very common these days. Get a blood test and check your thyroid levels.
    There are no rules with regard to the occurrence frequency of the type of hair loss in a woman with genetic hair loss. There is clearly some inheritance in the female side of the family. Women who have genetic hair loss often have mothers, sisters or aunts with similar hair loss or hair thinning presentations. ';
it depends on the reason for hairloss for example you could have thyroid disease , but without seeking expert medical opinion there is no point trying to find a solution if you dont know whats wrong......go to your GP!!!!! then when you have a better idea as to whats happening with your hair ask for solutions....
YEAH GO TO GNC OR GMC? ANYWAYS ASK FOR THE MULTY VITAMINS PILL WITH IRON. THAT SHOULD HELP. IT DID FOR ME....
Being a woman myself one possible answer is stress.

Can folic acid be the reason for hair loss?

I have been suffering from serious hair loss for the past few days. Since we are ttc, i have been taking folic acid for last 2 monthsCan folic acid be the reason for hair loss?
No, but stopping the pill is. For around 3 months after you stop taking bc your hair falls out- it shortens the 'hair life' hence you tend to lose a lot of hair.

Type in 'hair loss' and 'birth control pill' in a search engine and read all about it.

Edit: um, I know it can be a symptoms of diabetes. Also, if you suffered stress 6 months ago, your hair falling out can be a result of that. It takes 6 months to occur though. Any extreme stress then?

Also, is the hair falling out in clumps or evenly throughout? Can folic acid be the reason for hair loss?
I take folic acid every day now for 2 yrs. and I havent lost my hair. So no I don't think so. Unless maybe your allergic! Call a doctor.

What is the reason for hair loss? How can we prevent from it?

I m a 32 years old. I am facing a big hair falling for the last few days. What is the reason for hair loss? How can we prevent from it?What is the reason for hair loss? How can we prevent from it?

And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours. What is the reason for hair loss? How can we prevent from it?
Hair loss is caused by a lack of blood circulation to the scalp, and many many factors are involved (stress above all).

I started losing my hair and I tried Propecia and Rogaine, with little results.

I quit using them because I felt they were harming my health, so I tried to see what the 'alternative' cures had to offer.

Everything seemed like a scam: creams, oils, nothing really hit the nail for me.

One day I found out the ONLY site that is genuine and works, it even has detailed VIDEOS that teach you how to exercise in order to increase the blood flow to your scalp and halt your hair loss for ever. :)

Regrowth is possibile, too, but I won't talk about that since this 'technology' aims mainly at stopping the loss, and it does it effectively!

This is the only ebook that is 100% genuine (I know this for experience...), I PROMISE.

The videos are really powerful and speak for themselves.

    Here's the link:

    http://tunable.org/hairloss

Please don't think that this is the usual scam, this method really WORKS.

    All the best,

    M.

hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few. but anyway you can always try and get real results.

year ago I suffered from hair loss and since hair loss is hereditary my dad suffered from it too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss. the things that really worked for me was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also you should use some herbal treatment.in that case Provillus is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=749165

    good luck!

not only my and my wife`s own personal experience
If you are beginning to lose your hair there are several things you can do to stop it.

Eat a healthy diet. Hair is 95% protein and eating a diet with plenty of vitamins and proteins will not only make your hair look healthy but will help you to keep it.

Just adding vegetables and fruit to your diet can make a big difference.

Vitamin B helps with circulation in the scalp, prevents hair loss, keeps your hair its natural colour and stops it from greying

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that keeps your hair healthy.

Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant as well and also helps improve the scalp circulation.

Biotin which is another vitamin is essential for hair growth and healthy hair.

Al these vitamins can be found in a healthy diet.

Avoid smoking. Recent studies showed smokers start to suffer excess hair loss due to poor blood supply to the scalp and follicles.

Take natural hair supplements like provillus. These provide all the vitamins and proteins your hair needs. The best ones contain DHT inhibitors that stop your body converting testosterone into DHT which is the cause of genetic hair loss.

Use a good shampoo. Ideally it should have a pH between 5 and 9. This as close to the pH of your hair you will find in a shampoo. If your shampoo stings your eyes a lot that is a clear indication that there are excessive chemicals in it and you should change it.

Finally try and avoid stress, this is a major cause of hair loss and avoiding it will help you keep your hair on your head.
Poor circulation due to stress is tagged as one of the main culprits of hair loss. A tight scalp due to stress prevents the scalp's blood vessels and other vital nutrients to reach the hair follicles thus blocking the passageway for hair growth possibilities. Other contributory factors are hereditary in nature. Hair loss genes may be inherited from both parents. Hair growth is also hampered when the supposed nutrients could not enter due to the tar-like substance which has been a result of the mixing of oil and other infectious materials. This leads to a greater problem on male-patterned baldness.
Honestly, most hair loss is just genetic, so if it's happening there's not going to be a way to reverse it without getting the same treatment older men would. I'd go ask your doctor first, though, since he/she would know a lot more than me.
You probably don't have a lot of blood circulation in your scalp, it's healthy to massage your scalp to prevent it.

You could be losing your hair because of heredity, stress, or by wearing a hat to much.
    heritage its an family thing
    Are you stressed?

    A lot of time that's a problem

But I would still ask a doctor or something

    Hope that helps! ^^
I'm in the same position, but I'm better than my grandfather, who was bald at 20...
    I have no idea.
probably is stress you should go to you docter and check it out

Please name all the possible reasons that I could be loosing my hair at such a young age (21)What are reasons for hair loss?
Have you ever heard of an autoimmune disease called alopecia? It can affect the hair in various ways. Alopecia areata runs in my family and has affected relatives in different ways, and a few years ago I developed a small patch about quarter sized, but in my case it reversed and I haven't had any signs since. I also know someone who has Alopecia Universalis but in the case of Universalis ALL body hair is affected...I mean as in no more eyebrows, lashes...nada. What you describe could be Alopecia areata incognita. It's hard to say, but check you fingernails for a lot of pitting or ridging. Nail problems show up a lot of times with the disease. Even though I am no longer affected by it on my scalp, my nails do show pitting and ridging, so I know it could come back on my scalp at any time. Here's a link that explains a few things about it...

http://dermnetnz.org/hair-nails-sweat/al/a>What are reasons for hair loss?
The causes for hair loss are many. General reasons for hair loss are deficiency of hormone, ageing and heredity. Premature hair loss is due to stress, nutritional deficiency, genetic disorder, endocrine disorder and many others. Whereas the modern day causes for hair fall are air pollution, water pollution, dandruff, usage of shampoos and chemicals.

Other factors which trigger hair loss are poor circulation, radiation, acute illness, chemotherapy, high stress, thyroid imbalance, iron deficiency and improper care of hair. Women generally lose hair 2-3 months after giving birth to a baby. Birth control pills, excess of vitamin A and medicine used for anti-coagulant can also contribute in hair loss.

Often said it is difficult to prevent a hair loss. Treatments are available for hair growth which may help in hiding the baldness. The drugs generally prescribed for baldness are minoxidil, finasteride, corticosteroids and anthralin.
    Howdy orange,

There are so many reasons you could be losing your hair although if the docs can't figure it out im not sure how usefull I can be but to offer my suggestions:
